The March 19th TAS trip to Wakodahatchee and Green Cay Wetland, led by Nancy Freedman, was full of all the usual subjects. The big surprise at Wakodahatchee was a bold Least Bittern who didn't seem bothered by 20 people staring at it. We also saw another pair later on but they were more skulky. Another good find was a Neotropic Cormorant. There were also water snakes and rabbits around. At Green Cay we had our first Little Blue. Not nearly as many birds here as Wakodahatchee but always a nice walk. The only unusual thing was hearing loud peeping coming from right beneath the boardwalk. When Federico tried to take a picture by hanging his camera over the side, a Rock Pigeon flew out. He did get a picture of a hatched egg and nest right below the boardwalk. We had lunch at Morikami Gardens, Lake Biwa area, and called it a day.
