Join TAS Field Trip Coordinator Brian Rapoza and a local guide (arranged through Holbrook Travel) on an eight-day birding adventure in Panama, which boasts the highest bird diversity in Central America, with over 1000 species recorded! The country’s location at the convergence of North and South America will also provide opportunities to find migrant birds from both continents.
The tour begins and ends in Panama City. Two distinct regions will be visited: the tropical rainforests bordering the Panama Canal and the highlands bordering Costa Rica at the western end of the country. Birding hotspots we’ll visit include the world-famous Pipeline Road, the Rainforest Discovery Center and Volcan Baru National Park. We’ll also visit the Panama Canal’s famous Miraflores Locks and museum. A link to a detailed itinerary is here.
Fee: $3,825 per person double occupancy, $375 single room supplement. Fee includes ground and internal air transportation, lodging, meals, guides and park fees listed in the itinerary. Not included is round-trip international airfare to Panama City.
