Millions of birds migrate through south Florida every year. These migrants, numbering well over 200 different species, include a wide variety of colorful songbirds as well as various waterfowl, shorebirds and birds of prey.
On Sunday, September 15, Tropical Audubon Society’s Brian Rapoza will discuss when, how, and why these birds migrate, what hazards they face while passing through our area and what steps we can take to protect them and the dwindling stopover habitats they require to rest and refuel during their annual journeys.
His one-hour presentation, entitled Bird Migration in South Florida, takes place at Flamingo Gardens in Davie (Broward County). The presentation begins at 10 AM.
