Members Migration

  • Tropical Audubon Society 5530 Sunset Dr Miami, FL, 33143 (map)

TAS members and friends are invited to celebrate local conservation heroes, and hear from Members Migration headliner Ron Magill, Zoo Miami Goodwill Ambassador, who will talk about a subject close to his heart: “Preserving our Precious Pine Rocklands.”

Attendees can also take a bird walk (it’s Spring Migration!), savor Sports Grill sliders, RNDC Bird Bar libations and enjoy live music by folk artist Grant Livingston. Between bites attendees can duck inside the Historic Doc Thomas House to bid on a tempting array of Silent Auction items.

TAS President José Francisco Barros will host a Conservation Awards Ceremony recognizing outstanding environmental role models in their respective fields of endeavor — citizen volunteers and public servants who have dedicated themselves to protecting and preserving area wildlife, critical habitat and/or our region’s natural resources.

Award recipients and their presenters will include:

Sandy Moise, Polly Redford Citizen Conservation Award

—  Presented by TAS President Joe Barros and TAS Senior Conservation Director Lauren Jonaitis

Sean McCrackine, Dan Beard Government Conservation Award

— Presented posthumously by MDC Mayor Daniella Levine Cava and Good Government Initiative President and CEO Katy Sorenson
